Haley Ties DeSantis for Second in New Hampshire: Poll

by Ben Whedon

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is in a tie for second place with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the Granite State, while former President Donald Trump remains the clear front runner in the primary contest.

Haley and DeSantis earned 10% support each from Republican primary voters in an NMB Research poll, which Politico reviewed. Trump, meanwhile, claimed 47% support. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy tied for fourth place with 8% each.

Notably, DeSantis remains the second choice of a plurality of voters, with 20% backing him in the event their preferred candidate were not an option. Ramaswamy came in second in that metric with 18% support while Haley took 15%.

Conducted between Aug. 25-31, the survey questioned 800 likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire and has a margin of error of +/- 3.46%.

The survey may be an oddity, however, as Haley earns an average 3.8% support in New Hampshire in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

Nationwide, Haley stands in fourth place, with 6.1% overall support in the national metric. She appears to have enjoyed a modest polling surge in the wake of the first Republican primary debate.
